After several sessions and thinking about the next destination with Martin, we chose finally New Zealand. Australia was also a hot favorite, but in the end we decided that we prefer a green island more than the desert continent. We found also some informations about Working Holiday Visa. The difference was that Martin didn´t meet one of the conditions to Australia (people under 30 years can apply for a visa).

Working Holiday Visa to New Zealand

This kind of visa allows young people to visit New Zealand for up to 1 year. Of course, there is a great interest in it and after a few minutes when the application quota is opened, the limit is full. Fortunately, at the time of the Internet, tutorials and tweaks are available to increase your profit of visa.

This year, the quota opened on 22 March 2019 at 22:00 (our time). It also depends on the speed of the internet connection. I applied them with Martin at the same time, but the difference between our almost the same click was about 200 people. Martin was fortunate enough to read the pages of the form fairly quickly, while I was nervously watching the page loading wheel.

However, if you click through to the payment portal and make a payment, you have 90% won. We got lucky. After about 28 minutes, when we checked the availability of quotas, the limit was filled and the quota closed. The maximum number of applications is 1,200. The Working Holiday visas are intended for people under 35 who want to travel in New Zealand but also work or study in the country.

What I have read through several websites and groups, some people are trying to get a visa for 4 years. I even met with one patient who travels the world but has not been lucky with a New Zealand visa for three years. If I should summarize it, it is really lucky if you get it as an individual. It sounds incredible when you apply for visas as a pair! (especially when it’s the first time)

Answer from Immigration Department

If the application is approved, you will receive an email confirmation that the visa application status has been changed. Most applications are processed within 25 days, but usually, the Immigration Department will send you e-mail sooner. You have to check your mailbox including spam every day. We received a response to inclusion after 2 days with the information that we have 14 days to sent lung x-ray. The Immigration Department has to check if we don´t have tuberculosis.

At first, we thought that it is enough to go to the radiology department where we can apply for X-ray of lungs at our own request, but the Immigration Department only cooperate with one workplace in the Czech Republic. Fortunately, it is located in Prague 6 on Vítězné náměstí. So if you decide to travel to the same visa for Canada, Australia, or New Zealand, they will send you here: http://www.viteznenam.cz/?lang=en

You must make an appointment before visiting a doctor. Since you have a deadline of 14 days, you are happy if a date is found. At this point, I was glad that Prague is close to our place of residence. I can’t imagine living in Moravia or Ostrava.

Anyway, the visit was also interesting because Martin ordered an appointment for him and me (together) and the doctor accepted it. But when the doctor called another one, she told me that she didn’t see ordered appointment with me. But there wasn´t the next patient, finally, she accepted me …….
The appointment with the doctor includes the filling printed immigration forms and bringing a photo ID. Finally, you take a passport with which to take a picture. Price per visit is 1000 CZK / person. Furthermore, the doctor will send you to X-ray of lungs, for which you will also pay 1000 CZK / person.

I thought that this specialized center is focused on medical examinations and X-rays only for those traveling abroad. But the X-ray department was for everyone. So it was funny to see the queue of 30 young people with forms, passports and 1000 banknotes and older people who commented on the situation with what was happening here today. Some people came in, turning their eyes and immediately left with the fact that they would come to the X-ray the next day.

But in the end, we managed everything and after 4 hours we went home!

Congratulations!

The e-mail that all applicants have been eagerly awaiting has come. It is true that Martin could be happy a few days earlier than I, but as he said: I can not rejoice because we want to leave together and we have to wait for your e-mail together too. March 25, 2019, I also got a mail and our doors open for another adventure.
