We originally thought that we try the first Workkaway for 2 weeks, and we’ve been here for over 2 months now. At this place, we had a really great portion of happiness. We are still working, enjoying free moments, sometimes coming up with some surprises, getting to know new people and thanks for them new (perhaps sometimes visited in the future) places of interest. I write a few moments, which we enjoyed in January.

Another piece of work
Martin moved to the area where the outdoor kitchen with a bar is planned. In December, he created a 3D project on the computer and now he begins to implement it. Unfortunately, at the same time, he found a problem with water. So, he dug and checked the water pipe and the first part of the water leak was found (poorly connected pipe). Only a fraction of the problem was fixed, but it was a good work. And then, after heavy rains, he jumped into an unfinished pool where he drained the water.
I continued to paint, for example, in the painting of a public bathroom (finally, after a month my paint was bought) or also in the painting of all frames of the door. I also focused on creating kitchen and bathroom decoration from buckets of colors or from plastic containers of DIY style (do it yourself).
I had the biggest concern with the kittens. They had to be checked by the vet and they needed vaccine. The black kitten, however, was apathetic for three days, limp on one leg, ate only a little food and stayed away from the others. He preferred to lie all day in our bed. Veterinarian found a fever of 43 degrees. He needed ATB and quiet regime. Finally, I put him the ATB without problems, but quit regime was impossible when his siblings played outdoors. Eventually he got out of it, but another kitten started to lie in our bed.
This time she didn´t eat or drink, she had closed eyes and just lay. The veterinarian decided to do one parvovirus test – it was positive (according to his words). Followed by an infusion, ATB, a quiet regimen, and a special meal for digestive system problems. However, this virus is so insidious that it causes a so-called “panleukopenia” in which 90% of the animals die. It can be transport over the others with just touch, so we had to separate the kittens from a sick kitten. The best way was to find them a new home (according to his words). But I think that it was a bit dramatic. After the first dose of ATB and the infusion from the veterinary clinic, I had a kitten in my bed all night and I woke up about four times a night to bring her to a bowl of water and gave her a little of the special diet – and about three days later when the kitten lay with us in the room and separated from the others, decided to go out. They warned us that incubation time is 2-9 days, but all kittens are fortunately cool.
Now I care about only one thing – Otodectes cynotis. I have to clean their ears every day with special liquid. For the first time I looked at the doctor, but now I can do it all alone. As for the malicious virus, no comment – in the words of a doctor, we had an infested area with a virus, and all the kittens should die in a short time. Fortunately, that didn´t happen 🙂

Package from Czechia to Langkawi
It was a bit of a test of how international mail works. The family asked what we lack and what we need. We wanted to send a few biscuits, postcards of Prague and of the region where we live in like a gift for our new friends), Becherovka as a gift for our host and for me still cleaning cosmetics in travel packages and 4 pcs of new underwear.
And finally, one unplanned party
One night around half past two when we drank some drinks at home, we were bathed and suddenly someone said: we are going to the bar. I and Martin were tired but we went to the bar with the others. I worn clothes for sleeping (Martin’s t-shirt and leggings), I was without make-up and my hair was horrible. After arrival, we drank Redbull and Vodka for energy. They started to play the best of music. As for the drinks, we finally ordered a whole bottle of Stolichnaya vodka and sprite. And the big party began!
