When I look back, every vacation is always enriched by a stop in this beautiful, supermodern a luxury city. The first time was in 2013 when we traveled together to our first vacation in Bali after six months relationship. We said, that it wasn’t our last stop in this city. And it wasn’t.

The next year 2014 we traveled together to vacation in Mauritius and we went to emirate Ras Al Khaimah in 2015. We didn’t travel in 2016 but this year we want to travel longer time around the world so we visit Dubai fourth time. Every time when you visit this city, you are surprised. On the other side something you see as a common part of the city like Orloj in Prag. Burj Khalifa and The Dubai Fountaine never disappoint, closed air-conditioned bus stop aren’t unusual, wifi in a subway is a matter of course. It is always graceful respect dress code (cover your shoulders and knees) even if the temperature is really high and Dubai is very tolerant. It is the same with wearing Burqa. I think that is a normal suit and part of their culture.

Jump in Dubai – 1.11.2017

The temperature was 29 degree after our landing. We waited in an endless queue before taxi service. Finally, we had the pleasure that they were chosen limousine taxi for us. I probably do not need to say that was a little more expensive service than a normal taxi. Fortunately, our hotel was only 9 kilometer from the airport. We checked-in in hotel Gateway and we had a clear goal. We wanted to sleep, go for breakfast as late as possible and after then go to the city.

Check in was really fast and we went to the bed at 2 a.m. We were so pleased that breakfast was from 7 AM to 11 AM. We planned to go to the breakfast at 10:30 AM However we knew that a dining room was 1 floor above us. We heard lots of chairs on the floor. We checked out at 12 o’clock and went to the subway. We had one transfer between green and red line in stop Burjuman. There were lamps from Czech company Lasvit and they looked like jellyfish. We were a bit proud of the golden Czech hands and we could continue to the next station – Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall.

We traveled to the airport after the day around Dubai Mall and The Dubai Fountaine. We just said in the subway, which terminal we needed. One or three? We got off earlier in Terminal 1. We had 3 hours to our departure so we weren’t in stress. We went to passport control and found out that we were in the wrong terminal. Okay, we could walk to terminal 3 but we wanted more information about the transfer. Finally, we got information about transfer by bus to the terminal 3, so we went to the bus stop. When the bus stopped I wasn’t a hero and before our boarding, I asked: are you going to the terminal 3? When driver agreed, we boarded.

All controls were without problems and we had still two hours to the departure. We said that was a big airport with a lot of shops, restaurants and bars. We decided to choose a restaurant where we take a dinner. It was a little complicated because there were under reconstruction and a lot of places were closed. Fortunately, our famous Costa Coffee was opened. I ate rice with beef and vegetables and Martin chose a sandwich with ham and cheese. After dinner with a full tummy, we boarded the plane from Dubai to Phuket.
